Women's-health symptoms are often ignored, normalised, tolerated for too long, poorly understood — or simply not discussed. Ask Femnee exists so that a question can be asked early, and answered properly.
Your initial Femnee consultation is free — by phone, video or in person. If you choose a telephone consultation, we will call you.
What happens next
- You send your details. Only the basics — no medical history through the website.
- We contact you. A member of the Femnee team gets in touch by your preferred method to arrange a suitable time, once availability is confirmed.
- You ask your question. The consultation is free, and there is no obligation to have investigations or treatment.

Understanding what may be happening usually makes the conversation more useful. These are common starting points.

Asking is not a commitment
Asking a question does not commit anyone to tests or treatment. Sometimes information and reassurance may be all that is needed. If an investigation identifies something that needs further attention, we can explain the findings and the available options. Women are welcome to take their reports and results to their GP and continue their care through the NHS.
Why we do this
Our consultations and selected subsidised investigations are designed primarily to help women understand their health, clarify concerns, ask questions and decide whether anything further needs to be done.
Sometimes the outcome is simply reassurance. Sometimes an initial discussion or investigation identifies something that deserves further assessment. Sometimes it eventually leads to treatment.
We also hope that women who engage with Femnee come away understanding women's-health issues better, and feel more comfortable discussing them with friends, family and their wider community. The benefit should extend well beyond the individual appointment.

The current programme
These are not products. They are the parts of an initial conversation or assessment that the charity is currently able to make free or affordable.
Up to 10 free women's-health consultations each week
An opportunity to discuss a women's-health question or concern and understand whether anything further may be appropriate.
Subsidised ultrasound scan — currently £25
Where an ultrasound is considered appropriate as part of an initial assessment.
AMH blood test — currently £60
Where appropriate for women wanting information about ovarian reserve.
AMH has real limitations and is not a general "fertility test". It cannot tell you whether or when you will conceive.

The programme is supported by clinical facilities, equipment and staff time made available by Acorn Fertility in Colliers Wood. This helps the charity currently provide a limited number of consultations free of charge and selected initial investigations at substantially subsidised cost.
If an investigation would help, Femnee currently offers some scans and blood tests at subsidised prices, with the results explained by a doctor.

The primary purpose of the programme is awareness, education and initial engagement with women's health. It is not intended to provide every subsequent investigation or treatment at subsidised prices.
Where further investigation or treatment is appropriate, the available options and their costs are explained before you decide whether to proceed.
For example, someone seeking advice about abnormal bleeding may begin with a free consultation or subsidised scan. If a procedure such as hysteroscopy is subsequently clinically appropriate, that procedure may be provided at the usual clinical fee.
