Femnee is a women's-health education and support programme operated by Health and Education Centre, a registered charity in England and Wales (Charity No. 1150279) and a company limited by guarantee (Company No. 07874367).

Health and Education Centre is the data controller for the personal information collected through Femnee for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.

Femnee currently provides local consultations and selected assessments from 112a Cavendish Road, Colliers Wood, London SW19 2EZ.

Depending on the circumstances, we process ordinary personal information because it is necessary to provide a service you have requested, because we have a legitimate interest in responding to and administering enquiries and services, because you have given consent where consent is appropriate, or because we need to comply with a legal obligation.

Information concerning health receives additional protection under UK data-protection law.

Where health information is necessary in connection with the provision or management of health care, assessment or treatment, it may be processed under the applicable health and social-care provisions of UK data-protection law and subject to appropriate duties of confidentiality and safeguards.

Where another legal condition is required for particular health information or another use of special-category information, we will ensure an appropriate condition applies before processing it.

If you give Femnee your email address when expressing an interest in or seeking support in connection with our charitable purposes, we may occasionally send you information that furthers those purposes. This may include:

• women's-health education;
• new Femnee information and resources;
• local women's-health events or activities; and
• updates about Femnee's charitable work and services.

You will be given an opportunity to tell us that you do not want these communications when we collect your details, and every such email will provide a straightforward way to unsubscribe.

If you opt out, we may retain the minimum information necessary to record that preference and ensure that we do not inadvertently contact you again for these purposes.

Femnee communications under this arrangement are communications from Health and Education Centre about its charitable purposes. We do not use this arrangement to send you marketing on behalf of unrelated organisations.

Access to personal information is restricted to people who need it for the relevant Femnee purpose.

We may use trusted service providers to help us operate our website, email, secure database, appointment systems or other necessary services. Where they process personal information on our behalf, they are expected to handle it securely and only for the appropriate purpose.

General enquiries and consultation requests that do not become part of an ongoing clinical relationship will normally be retained for up to two years after the last meaningful contact.

We use this period so that we can respond appropriately if you contact Femnee again and maintain reasonable continuity in our communications with you.

Information may be deleted earlier where there is no longer a reason to retain it.

If you receive a clinical consultation, investigation, scan, blood test or other clinical service and information becomes part of a clinical record, that information may need to be retained for longer in accordance with applicable professional, regulatory and clinical-record retention requirements.

Where you have opted out of Femnee communications, we may retain limited suppression information for longer where necessary to ensure that your preference continues to be respected.

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information from unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration or loss.

Website notifications are designed so that unnecessary personal or health information is not included in ordinary notification emails. Relevant information is accessed through the secure system by authorised users.

These rights are not absolute and some information may need to be retained for legal, regulatory or clinical reasons.
